How COVID-19 Is Affecting My Clients
The coronavirus pandemic has caught us all by surprise and changed our day to day lives significantly. It has meant that trips to the doctor or hospital for healthcare check-ups have been placed on hold due to the lockdown.
The lockdown has also created bouts of anxiety and depression among the general public due to fewer social connections with the outside world. However, if you feel overwhelmed, you don’t have to suffer in silence, as there is help out there.
As an experienced psychotherapist, I counsel individuals to get on the road to recovery. I’m currently conducting virtual sessions and have limited office hours due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
It means clients will get to choose to attend in-person or continue with virtual sessions based on what they feel works best for them. They will get asked during the initial contact on what option they would prefer.
Consequently, the procedures that I’m implementing will give clients that prefer in-person sessions a sense of safety. It includes regularly disinfecting and cleaning the facility to ensure it is a sterile environment.
I’ve also organized my office space to ensure appropriate physical distancing. However, for the time being, I’m only using my larger office in Toronto, while figuring out an alternate arrangement for my North York clinic.
